A, B, C, D & T scans

Ultrasonic views are associated to the different plane views between the ultrasonic path and scanning parameters (scan or index axis). The Scan axis represents the plane in which the sectorial or electronic scanning is performed. The Index axis is along the mechanical axis.

An Ascan represents the amplitude of the ultrasound versus time or soundpath (mm)

The Bscan is a 2D view of the data. The horizontal axis represents the scan position and the vertical axis the travel path (either in µs or mm)

The Cscan is a 2D view of the ultrasonic data. The horizontal axis is usually the Index axis and the vertical the scan axis. It is a view seen from the top of the sample and each pixel represents the maximum amplitude of the ascan for that particular position

The Dscan is a 2D view of the data. The horizontal axis represents the index position and the vertical axis the travel path (either in µs or mm). Each column corresponds to one angle of a sectorial scan or one sequence of an electronic scan

A Tscan represents the TFM reconstruction within the region of interest. It can have any orientation but is typically reconstructed along the index axis.
